Abstract
Background : Phymosis is a condition where the foreskin cannot retract to the glans penis resulting in "ballooning" where the prepuce expands during micturition. Residual urine gets trapped in the prepuce and grows infection-causing bacteria that cause pain. Pain in children if not managed properly can cause behavioral disorders such as fear, anxiety, stress, sleep disturbances and developmental regression. Therefore this KIA-N aims to analyze the application of Audio Distraction Therapy in phymosis Pre-Op Pain.
Metods :. This research uses a case study design involving 1 child respondent with a case of phymosis pain. Data collection therapys using interviews, observation, documentation and research instruments using the NRS scale.
Results: The results of case analysis in patients obtained a diagnosis of Acute Pain, collaborative Pain Management interventions with Audio Distraction with murottal, pain level outcomes and the results of pain scale evaluation decreased from scale 7 to 4 with the duration of intervention for 3 consecutive days.
Discussion: The results of nursing analysis with pain management interventions for 3 days with Audio Distraction with murottal can reduce pain levels from scale 7 (severe pain) to scale 4 (moderate pain). However, nurses need to pay attention to the effectiveness of distraction depending on the respondent's ability to receive and generate sensory input other than pain.
