Indonesian is very important in education as well as in daily life. Indonesian is something that needs to be learned and mastered by students or citizens of Indonesia, as it is the national language of the country. In addition, understanding language will greatly facilitate socializing with those around you and help smooth the learning process. Based on the results of the interview with the teacher of grade I at SDN Tamansari 1, it was found that the students are experiencing difficulties in reading, some students are not yet fluent in reading letters and are unable to combine letter arrangements into words. As a result, in the learning process, there are often difficulties in understanding the learning material. This research aims to develop concrete media for first-grade students at SDN Tamansari 1. The presence of learning media assists and facilitates the understanding of learning materials, as well as enhances the enthusiasm, motivation, and interest of students in learning.
The media being developed is a reading house for Indonesian language learning in first grade, focusing on helping students read. This study is a type of development research or Research and Development (R&D) using the ADDIE method. (analyze, design, development, implementation, evaluation). The analytical techniques used in this development research are qualitative data analysis and quantitative data analysis. The data collection techniques involve interviews, observations, questionnaires, and documentation.
In the research on the development of reading house media, the results showed a material expert validation percentage of 80% and a media expert validation percentage of 90%, which indicates that the developed learning media is valid and can be applied. Based on the evaluation results obtained, a percentage of 84% was achieved, thus surpassing the minimum competency standard (KKM). From the student questionnaire responses regarding the use of the reading house media, a percentage of 94% was obtained. Advice to students to use media wisely and make the most of it, for teachers to utilize any tools that can enhance students' understanding of the material, and for future researchers to develop better learning media in terms of form, size, and appearance.
