Abstract

Based on the results of the analysis, students in class II are active students, but they get bored easily if they only use teaching materials from student books during the learning process. This problem is important to solve because it causes students to be less interested in participating in learning. Therefore, it is important to develop a product that can overcome this problem, such as teaching materials, namely interactive animated video media. The purpose of this study is to produce an animated video product for early reading skills in the Indonesian Language subject for Class II.
This type of research is development which is a reference (Research and Development) R&D. The development model is the ADDIE model (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The data collection techniques used are observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. The research instruments consist of: 1) interview lists for needs analysis observations, 2) validation sheets for material experts and learning media experts, 3) teacher and student response questionnaires, 4) practice questions to determine the effect of learning media on learning outcomes.
The method of making this animated video teaching material is by using several editing applications that can create 2-dimensional moving images. This animated video is also equipped with instructions for use and practice questions. The steps for using this animated video teaching material are by first providing an explanation of how to set up or instructions for the animated video. Then students can listen to the material contained in the animated video directly. After that, students work on the practice questions contained in the animated video. Based on the processing and analysis of the data above, this study resulted in the conclusion that animated video learning media has an effect on the learning skills of class II students of SDN Dadaprejo 02, one of which is proven by a trial exercise to determine the effectiveness of the media that has been developed. Based on data from the results of the effectiveness test, an average value of 90 was obtained. This average value shows that the value meets high criteria, which means that interactive media based on animated videos is effective for use as a form of strengthening the reading skills of class II elementary school students.
