Abstract

Background: A fracture is a break in bone continuity caused by shock, characterized by pain, swelling, deformity, functional impairment, shortening and crepitus. Fractures experience physiological disorders caused by physical shock, bone condition, energy and complete bone continuity and as a result of joint stiffness, one of which is pain. Pain is a personal discomfort. Treatment problems that occur in fracture sufferers are related to discomfort or pain, which requires ideal pain relief, such as cold compresses and deep breathing relaxation.
Method: The research method used in preparing this Final Scientific Work uses a case study report. The author follows the scientific method according to the rules of the nursing process which includes: Assessment, Data Analysis, Nursing Intervention, Implementation and evaluation. In the assessment process, the author used various data collection techniques such as anamnesis, observation, interviews, documentation studies and physical examination to collect data.
Results: The results of giving cold compress therapy on reducing the level of pain, which shows that there is a significant effect of cold compress therapy on reducing cold compress therapy. before and after the cold compress, it showed that there was a decrease in the pain scale within 6 days from a scale of 7 severe pain to a scale of 4 moderate pain.
