PERBANDINGAN STRUKTUR PLOT PADA DUA CERITA RAKYAT (MALIN KUNDANG DAN BATU MENANGIS)

Folklore is are part of literary works. Folklore has its own charm
in the story. Folk tales are stories that develop in society. This research aims to examine the plot structure in the story Malin Kundang and Batu Menangis which looks at the form of events, conflicts, and resolution. The theory used in research on the Malin Kundang and Batu Menangis folklore is the theory of fictional prose of events, conflict and resolution. In the case above, the formulation of the problem in this research is, 1) what is the form of the event, 2) what is the form of the conflict between the characters in the fairy tale Malin Kundang and Batu Menangis, 3) what is the form of resolution that occurs in the fairy tales Malin Kundang and Batu Menangis.
The research method used is a descriptive method using a qualitative approach, an approach that uses a natural background to interpret the phenomena that occour. Research data in the form of the text, sentences, words. Data source for a collection of short stories from Cerita Rakyat Nusantara by Tim penulis Adicita Grup. Data collection techniques 1) reading a collection of short stories, 2) marking important parts, 3) recording the data found. Data analysis techniques 1) categorize data, 2) interpret data 3) draw conclusions.
From the results of the analysis and discussion, conclusions are obtained Malin Kundang and Batu Menangis folklore, namely: 1) The form of functional event, related event, reference event in story Malin Kundang dan Batu Menangis have comparisons in the two stories, in the story Malin Kundang has a complete family, but Malin Kundang father left his mother and Malin Kundang. Whereas in the story Batu Menangis there is only the mother and daughter. 2) The conflict in the story Malin Kundang dan Batu Menangis is an external conflict that comes from btween the characters, and internal conflict that comes from the characters minds. 3) The final resolution of the story of Malin Kundang and Batu Menangis ends in sadness.
