Abstract
Think pair share is a learning model that aims to improve students' interaction and collaboration skills by exchanging ideas in groups so that they get agreement or the same answer in solving problems. The contribution of Think Pair Share (TPS) to increasing biology competency is quite effective with a significant increase in each type of competency combined with Think Pair Share. The journal used is syntax indexed which aims to determine trends in the number of publications, various research designs, various competencies measured and distribution of research subjects in publications. The results show that the trend in the number of publications is fluctuating, the highest variety of research designs is dominated by experimental research with the number 1 and the research with the lowest number is quantitative descriptive research with the number 1, the number of types of competencies that dominate is critical thinking with the number 5 with a percentage of 29%. The most dominant research subjects were at the high school level with a number of 14 and the lowest were at the tertiary level (students) with a number of 1. The contribution of Think Pair Share (TPS) to increasing biology competency was quite effective with a quite significant increasing effect on each type. Competencies combined with Think Pair Share can be seen from improvements in cognitive learning outcomes, affective learning outcomes, collaborative discussions and student psychomotor learning outcomes.
