Abstract
Batu Tourist City Square is one of the tourist attractions located in the city center. Many parties involved in the success of its management in the scope of the City of Batu Tourism Square. From the community organization sector, government agencies, Society Organizations (Ormas), SMEs, and five street traders who support tourism facilities such as snacks typical Batu City, souvenirs, snacks/snacks, and souvenirs typical Batu City. Batu Tourist City Square experienced a change of management system, where the previous square was managed by the directly organized community from Panca Karya Bhakti and from 2020 was taken over by the government of Batu City. Management of the square was taken over by the Government of Batu City because there was a lot of damage to the means and infrastructure on this tour. This study is to explain the perception of visitors to the management system of squares that undergo a change of managers. The Environment Service (DLH) is the designated service of the Stone City Government as a service that manages because of the work field that has full responsibility in the management of squares such as the field of security and hygiene in the scope of the square. Based on the reality of the field data and Analysis of theories using the research using Herrbert Blumer’s symbolic interactionism, visitor perception is a form of symbol because visitors do not simply react to the actions of others, but try to interpret and define each other’s actions. This research approach uses a qualitative approach to study case types by taking data through observation, interviews, and litelatur studies.
