Abstract

Introduction: Academic stress is a condition where students are unable to face academic demands
and perceive the academic demands they receive as a nuisance. Based on the preliminary study that
has been carried out, information obtained from interviews conducted with 5 students showed that 4
people felt stressed because they had difficulty understanding the courses and completing the
assignments given.
Method: The type of research used is Quantitative Descriptive research, namely research carried
out to photograph a condition or phenomenon that occurs in a certain subject group. The sampling
technique used in this research was Probability Sampling with a Simple Random Sampling
technique with a sample size of 30 people.
Results and Discussion: The level of academic stress in Nursing students at the University of
Muhammadiyah Malang is influenced by various factors, including academic load, pressure to
achieve, time management, social support, clinical demands, individual factors, learning environment,
financial problems, physical and mental health, interactions with lecturers, and balance academic and
personal life.
Conclusion: educational institutions can develop effective strategies and interventions to support
students in dealing with stress and achieving their full potential
