Abstract

Awareness of the importance of utilizing teaching materials, both printed and electronic, in the educational process can contribute to effective learning. However, there is a lack of focus on the use of teaching materials at SDN 3 Kore Sanggar Kab. Bima, which results in students being unfocused and less enthusiastic during lessons. In practice, teachers have not fully optimized the use of teaching materials at SDN 3 Kore Sanggar Kab. Bima. The commonly used teaching materials are printed materials, such as thematic books and worksheets available at the school, because teachers consider these to be practical and efficient. The lack of learning motivation leads to students not fully understanding the material presented by the teacher. Therefore, the development of teaching materials, specifically stick box media, is necessary to help students concentrate during lessons and to increase their motivation to learn. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the development of stick box media in thematic learning for second-grade students at SDN 3 Kore.
The research activities conducted by the researcher utilized the ADDIE development model, which consists of five stages: (1) Analyze, which aims to assess needs, identify problems, and determine appropriate solutions; (2) Design, which involves defining specific competencies in the form of interactive multimedia products; (3) Development, which includes producing interactive e-modules for use in the research; (4) Implementation, which involves conducting research and applying the stick box media; and (5) Evaluation, which assesses the stick box media and learning outcomes. Data sources for this study included media and material experts, as well as the class teacher and second-grade students at SDN 3 Kore Sanggar Kab. Bima, totaling 20 students, to test the practicality of the stick box media.
The results of the study indicate that, based on evaluations from material and media experts via questionnaires, the media received a score of 84% from the media validator, which is considered feasible, while the material validator gave a score of 72%, categorizing it as good for application in the learning process. Evaluations from students and teachers via questionnaires showed that the stick box media received an 86% approval rating from students and 100% from the teacher or class guardian of the second grade at SDN 3 Kore Sanggar. Therefore, it can be concluded that the use of stick box media for teaching place value (hundreds, tens, and ones) is deemed feasible and very effective for use in elementary school teaching.
