Abstract

Hyperglichemia is a condition which glucose rate in blood and urinate glucose through the normal limit. If this happened continously and annualy, it would cause diabetes mellitus disease. Diabetes mellitus is a specific syndrome characterized by chronic hyperglichemia also disturbance in metabolism, carbohydrate, fat, and protein, which related with lack of insulin, whether relative or absolute with insulin disturbance. One alternative medication of diabetes mellitus is by using natural medicine which called herbal therapy. Herbal therapy is an effort to cure diabetes mellitus by using natural medicine plant. Pare (Momordica charantia L) is a plant which has anti-hyperglichemia effort. This research aimed to find out the influence of pare (Momordica charantia L) filtrate to urinate glucose of white rat (Rattus norvegicus) and to find out efficient dose of pare (Momordica charantia L ) filtrate which has anti-hyperglichemia. This research is true experimental research to find the possibility of causal event by using one or more treatments. The research was done at January 2-29th 2008 in University of Muhammadiyah Malang chemical laboratory. The research used complete random design with 6 treatments and 4 repeats, with A dose treatment (0 ml) ; B (0,3 ml) ; C (0,9 ml) ; D (1,5 ml) ; and F (2,7 ml). Data analysis used is one way variant analysis which is continued by Duncan’s test. The result showed that Pare (Momordica charantia L ) filtrate in dose 1,5 ml/200g BB rat, showed significant result. It showed that in the dose, Pare (Momordica charantia L ) filtrate was the best treatment and influenced urinate glucose in white rat (Rattus norvegicus).
