Abstract

Liquid Petroleum Gas or LPG is the most important fuel for society. When there was rarity, there would be a social anxiousness in society who used the LPG. But if we had too many LPG to avoid rarity, it would increase the cost to do the saving and maintenance. That’s why there should be good planning and handling in information at every supply chain so that the LPG would fulfill the consumer needs. Since the weak information chain and coordination in supply chain in every level, the demand of 12kg LPG became unstable. It often caused information distortion. One of them was amplification of the demand variation from down stream to up stream channel. This phenomena called bullwhip effect. This information distortion caused excessive product amount or lack of product amount, the increasing of storage cost and stock out. Related with the problems above, there needed to do more planning to measure bullwhip effect which happened in 12kg LPG. Demand variation from downstream to up stream channel could also minimized. The research was done at 12 kg LPG supply chain in region 1 (Northern Malang), that was at 1 distributor (PT. Mason Naraji) and the exact retailer of the distributor. The research focused on one product, that was 12kg LPG. The fixation suggestion used Centralized Demand Information (CDI). From the research, there showed the decreasing of bullwhip effect in down stream level (retailer) for 4 aggregation group, they were (w1) from 1,1573 (1,16%) into 0,8311 (0,83%). For (w2) from 1,072 (1,07%) into 0,653 (0,65%). For (w3) from 1,573 (1,16%) into 0,8311 (0,83%). The last (w4) from 1,072 (1,07%) into 0,653 (0,65%). While in the up stream level (distributor) for 2 aggregation group (w2) from 0,866 (0,87%) into 0 (0%). And (w4) from 0,866 (0,87%) into 0 (0%). The storage cost reduction (total saving cost and stock out) was 1.437.475,00 or 59%.
