Abstract

Train is one of transportation recognized by cheap compared to other transportation. Most passenger candidate chooses train with consideration of its cheap facet. Now also train even transports at least 160 million passengers per year. Nevertheless, when growth of passenger becoming fast, train exactly obsolete and accident of train frequently do happened. Phenomenon lowering of the train passenger amounts because of the happening of trust crisis to train. There is no real effort to be more guarantees passenger safety, for example, when happened train accident, the passengers unable to handled seriously. Therefore, required hard work in returning trust of public that will apply train service again. With positive image owned by company will get response to the company. Recovery and takes care of positive image to company, Liaison Division PT. Indonesia Train Daop VII Madiun more emphasizing aptly is activity of Eksternal Company. Positive image of company formed from image or assessment to company by wide public and service user. Researcher haves a notion that liaison activity plays important role in curing positive image after accident of train happened. This research internal issue formula is, how public activity relations PT. Indonesia Train Daop VII Madiun in taking care of company image, which its purpose wish to know activity done. Theory applied is forming of image where this process influenced by cognate factor and perception (Jalaluddin Rakhmat, 1991: 51). Type applied in this research is qualitative descriptive research type, because this research only explains situation or event. This research doesn't look for or explains relationship, doesn't test hypothesis or makes prediction (Rachmat, 1999: 24). Location of this research done in PT. Indonesia Train Daop VII Madiun, source of informant done by researcher to amount to 2 people, instrument applied in this research is interview and documentation, and technique applied is triangulation technique that is authenticity audit technique of exploiting data something else outside the data (Moleong, 2007; 330). Inspection of authenticity of data in this research done by the way of triangulation of source, that is by comparing and re-checked level of trust an information, what obtained through time and different equipment in qualitative research (Patton 1987: 331). This thing is reachable by way of comparing result of interview with content of interconnected documents (Moleong; 30-331). Researcher focused research at liaison activity in taking care of positive image. Activity has done (1) internal activity (coordination of employee, company communications to employee) (2) activity external (as facilitator company communications to public, promotion of company). Based on research result which has been done, obtained inferential result that is activity external liaison can take care of the visible company image newly seldom of complain to the side of liaison and still the many publics applies this train service. This thing is one of example of that company has cured and takes care of image which either among public. The activities in the form are internal activity and activity external. Internal activity covers, takes care of relationship and communications between staves with staff, staff with leader, while at activity level external that is taking care of the relation of mass media. Form of public relations media applied by PT. Indonesia Train Daop VII Madiun in taking care of company image is internal media, bulletin or magazine Kereta Api Indonesia, electronic (like website, intranet, e-mail), situs is having the character of public for all employee, milis (mailing list) what can be accessed by employee. In executing the relationships, PR meets some constraint factors and supporter. The constraint factor is less availably of public human resource relation, and communications done by public relation as public relations activity. Whereas its(the supplementary factor is supported facility and supporting facilities for job(activity like internet, WEB, situs etcetera which can quicken spreading of information and public relations activity of public relation PT. Indonesia Train Daop VII Madiun in taking care of company image.
