Abstract
This study aims to determine teachers' perceptions of the use of ChatGPT in teaching English at MAN Lumajang. ChatGPT, as an artificial intelligence-based natural language model, has great potential in supporting the learning process. This study used a qualitative approach with interview method to collect data from English teachers at MAN Lumajang. The results show that both teachers have a positive view towards the use of ChatGPT, recognizing that this technology can improve English language skills and open up great opportunities in today's world of education by facilitating access to learning resources more widely, easily, and efficiently. However, there were also concerns about dependency on the technology and lack of in-depth understanding from students. This study recommends further training for teachers to maximize the use of ChatGPT and its integration in the learning curriculum. Thus, ChatGPT can be an effective tool in improving the quality of English language teaching.
