Abstract

FINA ADHELIA PURNAMASARI 201910040311232 Communication Studies Program, Faculty of Social Sciences and Political Science, Muhammadiyah University of Malang, PERCEPTION OF MEMBERS OF SANGGAR ASMOROBANGUN REGARDING THE BAPANG MASK DANCE PERFORMANCE.
This study aims to understand the perception of members of Sanggar Asmorobangun regarding the YouTube video of the Bapang Mask Dance performance. This research uses a constructivist paradigm with a qualitative descriptive approach, and interviews as the data collection method. The subjects of the study are 6 members of Sanggar Asmorobangun who have watched the Bapang Mask Dance performance. The analysis of the research employs perception theory. The findings reveal that the subjects attitudes towards the Bapang Mask Dance performance are influenced by their experiences, preferenses for the dance world, and social environment. The Bapang Mask Dance video on YouTube serves as an effective medium for preserving the Bapang Mask Dance culture. All subjects had positive opinions about the Bapang Mask Dance performance, although some had negative opinions about certain aspects of the performance.
