Abstract
Background: Nursing rounds will cause harm to patients if they are not carried out as they are not done, such as prolonging hospitalization; the risk of worsening the disease and so on. The aim of this case study is to analyze and describe the implementation of nursing rounds in the inpatient ward of a referral hospital in East Java Province.
Method: This research was a case study where data was obtained from all medical personnel at the research location. Data was collected through interview, observation and documentation. The collected data was analyzed descriptively.
Results: The results of the identification of problems in the implementation of nursing rounds at the research location were not optimal because the policies and roles of the head of the room were not optimal. For these problems, nursing rounds were carried out by young nurses. The evaluation results showed that the implementation of the nursing round role play went according to plan and there was collaboration between doctors, PJ nurses, nutritionists and pharmacists, but on the other hand, the room could not carry out rounds as carried out by young nurses.
Conclusion: The Nursing Round role play can run optimally if it is carried out and used as an intervention and socialization carried out in the hospital.
