Abstract
Empowerment of women refers to efforts to enhance women's ability to access and control resources, economic, political, social, and cultural aspects, enabling them to actively participate in problem-solving and thus build self-capacity and self-concept. One form of women's empowerment is through women farmer groups, which are informal associations of farmers/livestock breeders/planters formed based on shared interests, similar environmental conditions (social, economic, resources), and familiarity to improve and develop members' businesses, particularly women.
This study aims to examine the mina sayur program implemented by the Kelompok Wanita Tani (KWT) Bina Arta Mandiri in enhancing food security post-Covid-19 pandemic. Food security refers to the state of having access to sufficient, safe, diverse, nutritious, evenly distributed, and affordable food that is in line with the religious, cultural, and societal norms, enabling healthy, active, and sustainable living. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, collecting data through interviews, observations, and documentation.
The findings illustrate that the empowerment of women through the implementation of the mina sayur ikan lele program by the Kelompok Wanita Tani Bina Arta Mandiri not only enhances food security for members but also provides broad benefits to their families, communities, and the surrounding environment, especially after the Covid-19 pandemic. The main supporting factors for the implementation of the mina sayur program include financial support, gender equality improvement, scalability, and flexibility. On the other hand, the main hindering factors include the need for knowledge and skills, also health risks associated with fish and plants. Nevertheless, the mina sayur program demonstrates that implementing such activities can be an effective solution to address post-pandemic food crises.
