Abstract
Background: Auditory hallucinations are a major risk factor for suicidal behavior in patients with schizophrenia. The voices heard by patients often command or encourage them to engage in dangerous actions, including suicide. Structured and focused interventions aimed at managing auditory hallucinations are crucial for reducing the risk of suicide in patients with schizophrenia. Nursing approaches that involve the implementation of auditory hallucination management strategies can help patients control their symptoms and improve their psychological well-being. This case study aims to analyze the management of hallucinations in a client with a medical diagnosis of schizophrenia in the
Gili Trawangan Ward at RSUD Dr. Saiful Anwar Malang.
Resesarch Methods: This study is a case study of nursing care, which includes assessment, data analysis, nursing interventions, implementation, and evaluation. The assessment and data collection process was carried out using various techniques, including patient interviews, observation, and documentation. This research was conducted in the Gili Trawangan Ward at RSUD Dr. Saiful Anwar Malang from Monday, April 1, 2024, to April 4, 2024. The respondent in this scientific paper is Mr. H, a 20-year-old patient..
Results: Based on the assessment results, there were two main diagnoses for the patient, Mr. H: Sensory Perception Disorder: Auditory Hallucinations and Risk of Suicide. The interventions provided included the implementation of auditory hallucination management strategies (SP 1-3).
