Abstract
The research of developing wood beam multiplication board media was motivated by problems that occurred at SDN Gayam 01 Gondangwetan in class IV. Students have difficulty focusing and understanding in mathematics subjects, one of which is multiplication calculation operations. Students tend to be less interested in abstract learning which can affect student learning outcomes in mathematics subjects. Apart from that, there are still many students who are not careful in working on math problems on multiplication calculation operations. Therefore, the researcher chose to develop wood beam multiplication board media because students can carry out an active and fun learning process for counting so that students are interested in learning to count with multiplication material. This research purpose is for develop wood beam multiplication board media to mathematics learning, multiplication calculation operations in elementary schools.
This research uses the ADDIE development model with the following stages:
(1) Analysis, (2) Design, (3) Development, (4) Implementation, and (5) Evaluation. The data collection techniques in this research are observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. While the data analysis techniques used are descriptive qualitative and descriptive quantitative.
The results of the development of wood beam multiplication board media obtained an achievement score for material validation with a percentage of 82.5%, namely the very good validity category and media validation with a percentage of 76.7%, namely the good validity category. Then the response obtained from the student questionnaire was 90% with very good validity category and the final evaluation test results obtained an average result of 78%. So it can be concluded that the wood beam multiplication board media is suitable for use as a medium for learning mathematics regarding multiplication counting operations.
