Abstract

This research is an effort by TPQ teachers to improve their ability to read the Al-Qur’an using the Yanbu'a method at TPQ Miftahul Huda, Petungsewu Village, Malang. In learning, teaching and learning activities are not enough just to transfer knowledge and lectures, as a teacher you must have skills and fun learning methods so that learning can be achieved effectively and efficiently. The aim of this research is to describe how teachers make efforts to improve the ability to read the Koran and find out the supporting and inhibiting factors in improving the ability to read the Al-Qur’an at TPQ Miftahul Huda, Petungsewu Village, Malang. The approach used in this study is a qualitative approach. The type of research used is qualitative descriptive research. Based on the results of research in the field, the researcher concluded that the results of the research were about teachers' efforts to improve the ability to read the Koran at TPQ Miftahul Huda, Petungsewu Village, Malang using three steps, including teachers providing continuous guidance to students, using teaching aids to makes it easier for students to learn to read the Al-Qur’an, and study independently at home. The supporting factor is the support from parents which has a big influence on the future progress of the students, where parents always provide encouragement and motivate their children to learn to read the Al-Qur’an, then another supporting factor is the existence of learning support in the form of facilities and Decent infrastructure for students can also increase students enthusiasm for learning the Al-Qur’an. The inhibiting factors arise from within the students themselves, where the students often play in class while learning is taking place and the conditions of the surrounding environment (playmates) who still invite them to play in the afternoon when the students are studying the Al-Qur’an at TPQ. Based on the results of interviews with TPQ teachers, the results of the three steps taken by the teacher to improve the ability to read the Al-Qur'an can be said to be successful because the efforts made by the teacher can improve the students' ability to read the Al-Qur'an.
