Abstract
The demographic crisis in Japan has led to a shortage of skilled labor. In response, the Japanese government introduced the Specified Skilled Workers (SSW) policy to collaborate with various countries, including Indonesia, aiming to bring in skilled workers and establish a mutually dependent relationship. This study aims to analyze the efforts of the Indonesian and Japan government in supporting the deployment of Indonesian Workers (TKI) to Japan, specifically through the Specified Skilled Worker (SSW) program. The research method used is qualitative-descriptive, collecting sources from theses, news articles, journals, books, and other references. The findings show that, in accordance with the dual labor market theory, many Indonesians are interested in working in Japan through the SSW program due to Japan's numerous advantages. This opportunity compels the Indonesian government to take steps to support the deployment of TKI to Japan by establishing BP2MI, creating vocational training institutions (LPK), and providing legal guarantees for TKI. This support is aimed at achieving the Indonesian government's target of sending 20% of Japan's total labor demand.
