Abstract

E-learning has become an essential requirement in education, especially accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic. The implementation of online learning system at Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) uses Moodle-based Learning Management System (LMS), which requires evaluation to ensure its effectiveness and usability. This research aims to implement the System Usability Scale (SUS) method to measure the usability level of the LMS at UMM. This evaluation is expected to provide recommendations for improvement to enhance the quality of online learning. Based on the existing problems, it explains how to implement SUS method to measure usability of e-learning system at UMM. The research is limited to evaluating the usability of UMM LMS using SUS method without discussing other aspects such as learning content or other supporting technology infrastructure. The research uses SUS method which involves a questionnaire with 10 questions to assess usability aspects such as learnability, efficiency, error rate, and user satisfaction. The analysis shows that UMM LMS has a fairly good usability level but still needs some technical improvements such as system stability and ease of use. The implementation of SUS method is effective to evaluate the usability of UMM LMS, providing valuable insights for system improvement to enhance students‘ learning experience and lecturers’ teaching effectiveness.
