Abstract
The high rate of children with disabilities results in the need for the implementation of self-care aimed at increasing children's independence. The number of children with disabilities in Mojokerto district reached 4,970. Sekolah Luar Biasa ACD Pertiwi is one of the institutions that organizes the educational process for children with disabilities using the self-care program. This research aims to find out how the implementation of self-care for children with disabilities at the ACD Pertiwi Special School in Mojokerto Regency, using a qualitative approach method and descriptive research type. The process of determining 3 subjects in this study was carried out using purposive techniques, while the techniques used in data collection used observation, interviews and documentation. The data were analyzed using the miles huberman interactive method which consists of three stages of data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The results of this study state that the process of implementing self-care is in accordance with the guidelines issued by the government, where the slb has 5 forms of self-care at the elementary school level, namely; eating, drinking, toilet training (bathing, tub, chapter, etc.), buttoning clothes, and wearing shoes with socks. Self-care implementation techniques are tailored to students, but also by looking at the guidelines issued by the government
