Peran Kader Posyandu dalam Pencegahan dan Penanganan Stunting di Kelurahan Tlogomas Kota Malang

The research was conducted with a descriptive qualitative approach. This study aims to determine the role of cadres in preventing and treating stunting in Tlogomas Village, Malang City. Subjects in this study used purposive techniques. The collection technique is done by interviews, observation, and documentation. The theory in this study uses role theory which is defined as someone who is given a role and it is hoped that the role can be carried out properly and responsibly. Data analysis was carried out using interactive analysis (Miles & Huberman) and data validity using source and technique triangulation. The results showed that the role of posyandu cadres: 1) Facilitators, provide PMT for pregnant women with CED, overcoming iron and folic acid deficiencies, monitoring early detection of stunting risk, providing deworming medicine, diarrhea medicine, and vitamin A 2) Educator, conducting counseling outreach, 3) Motivators, providing motivation for breastfeeding, 4) brokers, sharing posyandu information and immunization activities, 5) Enablers, providing family assistance. The role of posyandu cadres is very important and helps the community in early detection of stunting risk. Suggestions/recommendations are addressed to cadres to improve their knowledge and skills, to sub-districts and health centers to provide training and budgets for supplementary feeding.
