Abstract
Currently, the use and growth of renewable energy sources such as solar and wind energy for electricity generation are continuously increasing. This is evidenced by the increasing number of Solar Power Plants (PLTS) and Wind Power Plants (PLTB) being constructed in various regions in Indonesia. Alongside this trend, power electronics technology, as a crucial part of voltage control systems in PLTS and PLTB, is also experiencing rapid development. The availability of solar and wind energy depends significantly on weather conditions and wind speeds. Therefore, to ensure the availability of electrical energy from these sources, hybrid systems that can combine both are becoming increasingly important. The importance of developing alternative energy sources to reduce dependence on fossil fuels to meet electricity needs is emphasized. The development of wind and solar energy is crucial due to their significant potential in Indonesia. According to the Energy Technology Center of BPPT, Indonesia has several locations with high potential for Wind Power Plant development. Meanwhile, according to the Agency for the Assessment and Application of Technology and the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency, as a tropical country, Indonesia has significant solar energy potential. Based on solar radiation data collected from 18 locations in Indonesia, wind and solar hybrid systems not only rely on one energy source but complement each other to overcome their respective limitations.
