Abstract

Ruminant livestock feed has several variants such as mash, pellets and
crumble. Animal feed is processed into pellets so that it is easy to store, handle,
serve and feed. The process of making calf starter can also be given whey and inulin
as an addition. The test uses an in vitro test, as if in the rumen of the livestock body.
This study aims to determine the digestibility value of dry matter and organic matter
through an in vitro process to determine the best digestibility value of several
sempels using several treatments, so that the best treatment is known by using the
dry matter and organic matter digestibility value. This research method uses the
Sempel Experiment method with 5 types of sempel treatments and each of the 5
uses 4 repetitions. The treatment used or applied is this study using 7.5% liquid
whey and 1% inulin. The results of the study of dry matter digestibility of ruminant
feed with CS1, CS2, CS3, CS4 and CS5 treatments showed a very significant effect
(P0.01) on the dry matter digestibility variable. The lowest CS3 digestibility level
was 54.32% while the highest result was shown by sempel P5 at 70.77%. This result
is considered high because the dry matter is digested by rumen microbes in vitro in
large quantities. The results of the study on the digestibility of organic matter in
ruminant feed with CS1, CS2, CS3, CS4 and CS5 treatments showed a very
significant effect (P0.01) on the organic matter digestibility variable. The addition
of whey in this study had a very significant effect on the digestibility of dry matter
(KcBk). The addition of whey in this study had a very significant effect on the
digestibility of organic matter (KcBo)
