PEMAKNAAN KHALAYAK PADA PESAN PASUTRI DALAM FILM TWIVORTIARE (Studi Resepsi pada Mahasiswa Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang Jurusan Ilmu Komunikasi angkatan 2019 yang telah menikah)

Film is a medium of mass communication that carries messages intended for its audience. It is not a value-free entity because it represents the thoughts of several individuals culminating in a work of art and culture. "Twivortiare," a film by Benny Heryanto, addresses everyday life issues such as divorce and reconciliation. This film highlights interpersonal communication and touches on various raised issues.The specific target of this research is to understand the reception of the film "Twivortiare" among married students of Muhammadiyah University in Malang. The research aims to explore the reception or interpretation of interpersonal communication portrayed in the film "Twivortiare." The long-term objective of this study is to provide insights to filmmakers regarding Indonesian audience reception of the issues of divorce and reconciliation.The research methodology used is qualitative research with Stuart Hall's encoding/decoding model of reception analysis, which assimilates or merges communication media and cultural communication among audiences. Understanding the differences in the definition of interpersonal communication is identified as one of the reasons for differences in interpretation. Informants from diverse backgrounds interpret interpersonal communication in marital relationships.
