Abstract
The development of gadget technology makes students' character decline and they lose their identity as children of the nation. Students tend to speak foreign languages and speak Indonesian, so the regional languages used do not conform to the correct language order. Apart from that, students prefer playing online games on gadgets rather than playing traditional games. This phenomenon causes the social and cultural character of students to begin to fade. This research aims to find out: Planning and implementation of social and cultural character formation through the Javanese language familiarization process using traditional games at SD Negeri Junrejo 02 Batu.
This research uses qualitative research and the type of research carried out is descriptive. The place where the research was conducted was at SD Negeri Junrejo 02 Batu with the subject data obtained from observations, interviews, documentation, and field notes with related parties such as: the principal, the teacher in charge, and 10 students. In this research, 4 stages of data analysis were carried out, namely data collection, data reduction, data display and conclusion drawing. The validity of the data uses two techniques, namely source triangulation and technical triangulation.
The research results show that this habituation program planning has a program SOP and a Javanese language habituation program activity plan. The activity plan contains materials, traditional games, and time for carrying out the activities. The implementation of this habituation program is divided into two classes, namely low class and high class to make it easier for students to receive the material. The social and cultural characters that are formed from the implementation of this program are: Polite and courteous character, love of culture, responsibility, discipline, noble character, global diversity, mutual cooperation, and creativity.
