Abstract

This research is the result of a descriptive analysis of turn taking patterns, namely, speech transfer patterns based on how turns are taken in speaking, and the closest pairs of utterances contained in the Deddy Corbuzer Channel YouTube podcast conversation Episode Login Di Close The Door. A podcast conversation involving three speakers will change roles in speaking. This change of role is also called speech switching which will be studied in this research. The aim of this research is to obtain a description of: (1) concepts and theories of speech transfer patterns in siniar conversations. (2) concepts and theories of closest speech pairs in siniar conversations.
The method used in this research is a qualitative method with a sociolinguistic approach. The data source in this research is Deddy Corbuzer's Channel YouTube podcast, the Login di Close The Door episode, entitled ”Boris Bergamis Bikin Histeris! #LogindiCloseTheDoor – EPS 21”. The data used in this research are words, sentences or discourse in the Deddy Corbuzer YouTube podcast conversation episode Login on Close The Door. Data collection was carried out using free listening techniques, data transcription techniques, and finally data recording techniques. Data analysis techniques are carried out by reduction, data verification, and drawing conclusions.
Based on the results of the analysis and discussion, in this YouTube podcast conversation, speech transfer patterns were found based on the way they took turn talking and speech transfer patterns based on the closest speech pairs. This change of roles in siniar conversations occurs to maintain speech or develop a topic of speech. Speech transfer patterns based on how to take turns talkin found to six techniques, namely, acquiring, stealing, seizing, creating, continuing, and replacing. Meanwhile, the closest speech pair patterns found in this siniar conversation are, asking followed by answering, offering followed by accepting or refusing, begging followed by admitting or opposing, requesting followed by granting or opposing, praise followed by accepting or returning.
