REALISME MAGIS DALAM KUMPULAN CERPEN WAKTU HELENA KARYA ZAKY YAMANI (TINJAUAN REALISME MAGIS WENDY B. FARIS)

This research is the result of an analysis of magical realism which includes elements of magical realism and forms of magical realism contained in the short story collection "Waktu Helena" by Zaky Yamani. This research aims to obtain a description of: (1) elements of magical realism in the short story collection “Waktu Helena” by Zaky Yamani, (2) forms of magical realism in the short story collection “Waktu Helena” by Zaky Yamani. To answer these problems, Wendy B. Faris uses the theory of magical realism.
This type of research is qualitative research using an objective approach. The data source in this research is the collection of short stories “Waktu Helena” by Zaky Yamani. The data used in this research is in the form of narratives, sentences, quotations, and conversations between characters related to elements of magical realism and forms of magical realism contained in the short story collection “Waktu Helena” by Zaky Yamani. The data collection technique is carried out by observing and verifying the data. Data analysis techniques are carried out by reading, collecting data, categorizing data, analyzing data and concluding the results of the analysis.
Based on the results of the analysis and discussion, it can be concluded that the collection of short stories “Waktu Helena” by Zaky Yamani contains magical realism events. Events of magical realism can be found through analyzing the elements of magical realism and forms of magical realism, Wendy B. Faris' theory of magical realism. The element of realism is more dominant in the short story collection “Waktu Helena” by Zaky Yamani. Meanwhile, the most dominant forms of magical realism found in the short story collection "Waktu Helena" by Zaky Yamani are Irreducible Elements. In this research, characters were found who had powers beyond human reasoning, such as a pocong and a figure of a monkey whose body was damaged and had holes in its eyes, a unicorn with a golden horn and silver wings, several dwarves and fairies playing hide and seek, the figure of a bright red dragon with deer horns, Suti the figure of the kuntilanak, the figure of a stumped priest whose head is carried everywhere.
