Abstract
Exim smart meter is an electrical energy metering device designed to monitor and manage energy consumption in real-time. The ever-increasing demand for energy encourages the utilisation of renewable energy sources. One of the problems faced is how to effectively integrate renewable energy with the PLN main power grid (maingrid). Exim smart meter is a solution in overcoming integrating energy from 2 sources of microgrid and maingrid and this tool can monitor energy consumption from maingrid and energy production from microgrid in realtime using IoT technology based on ESP8266 with the help of PZEM004T sensors that can measure electrical parameters. The methods used are Kirchoff's law and logic gates to analyse and manage the flow of current and voltage in the system. The test results with the load of the lamp used power of 8.4 watts, on the load of the electric pot of 488.5 watts and hairdryer of 600.4 watts and can be exported from microgrid to maingrid of 2188.739 watts when using hairdryer load. From the tests that have been carried out, it can be concluded that Exim smart meters not only help control daily energy use but also can reduce the cost of spending PLN electricity bills and can integrate from 2 sources both maingrid and microgrid.
