Abstract
This research applies qualitative research methods with a literary sociology approach to analyze the drama script Dukun Dukunan by Puthut Buchori. A qualitative approach was chosen because it is more suitable for exploring character dimensions, social conflict, and the relationship between character dimensions and the social conflict that occurs in the drama script. The data collection process in this research involved careful reading of drama scripts and recording quotes that were deemed relevant. A literary sociological approach is used to analyze the complex relationship between the characters and the social context that forms the background of the story.
The research results revealed three important findings. First, there are three dimensions of characters, namely physiological dimensions, sociological dimensions and psychological dimensions which illustrate the diversity in character depiction of each character. Second, there are two forms of social conflict, namely personal conflict and social class conflict which reflect the dynamics of conflict experienced by each character. Third, the relationship between character dimensions and social conflict creates diversity in the story of the drama script. This research provides insight into the literary sociology approach used to analyze literature and social reality in literary works.
This research also shows that through a literary sociology approach we can understand the dimensions of characters in drama texts which reflect social reality, as well as social conflicts that arise as a result of interactions between these character dimensions. This research can provide deeper insight into the social problems that occur and can become a basis for further research in this field.
