Abstract

This research aims to examine the role of Quran and Hadith teachers in overcoming reading difficulties in the Quran among 7th grade students at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Alkhairat Parigi Palu. The ability to read the Quran is an important competency that students must master in Islamic religious education. However, many 7th grade students at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Alkhairat Parigi Palu experience difficulties in reading the Quran. Therefore, this research intends to examine the role of Quran and Hadith teachers in addressing these difficulties. By understanding the role and strategies employed by the teachers, effective learning methods can be developed to enhance students' Quran reading abilities. This is expected to improve the quality of religious education at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Alkhairat Parigi Palu.

This research focuses on two main issues: 1) The role of Qur'an Hadith Education teachers as educators in overcoming difficulties in reading the Qur'an in the first grade of Alkhairat Parigi Islamic Junior High School, and 2) The role of Qur'an Hadith Education teachers as motivators in overcoming difficulties in reading the Qur'an in the first grade of Alkhairat Parigi Islamic Junior High School. The research method used is qualitative research with a case study approach. Data collection is conducted through interviews, documentation, and observation techniques. The collected data is analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and data verification/conclusion steps.
The results of the research show that (1) Teachers play a significant role as educators in overcoming students' difficulties in reading the Qur'an. They use approaches such as audio-visual media, synchronized reading programs, individual-classical methods, and motivation to enhance students' ability to read the Qur'an. (2) In the context of teachers as motivators, teachers strive to understand the characteristics of all students and provide creative and interactive teachings. Additionally, they also provide praise to the students
