PERBANDINGAN PERTAMBAHAN BOBOT BADAN HARIAN DAN EFISIENSI PAKAN DOMBA GARUT DENGAN DOMBA PRIANGAN PADA SISTEM PEMELIHARAAN INTENSIF DI SAUDAGAR FARM

The sheep on Indonesian people's farms are generally native Indonesian sheep. One type
of sheep that is growing rapidly in the West Java area is Garut sheep and Priangan sheep.
The difference between these two types of sheep is that farmers often do not know for sure
the level of productivity produced by this type of sheep. Garut sheep are often associated
with the agility traditions of the Sundanese people, meaning that Garut sheep are kept as
agile livestock, so it is still rare for Garut sheep to be kept as meat livestock. This research
aims to determine the comparison between daily body weight gain and feed efficiency of
Garut sheep and Priangan sheep. This research method uses the quantitative experimental
method T test for two treatments. The variables observed were daily body weight gain and

feed efficiency. The results of the study showed that there was no significant difference
(p>0.05) between the average daily body weight gain of Garut sheep, 0.06 g/head/day and
Priangan sheep, 0.05 g/head/day. The feed efficiency results showed that there was no
significant difference (p>0.05) in the average efficiency of Garut sheep at 6.15% and
Priangan sheep at 6.04%. The conclusion of this research is that there is no effect on daily
body weight gain and feed efficiency of garut sheep and Priangan sheep in an intensive
rearing system.
