KAJIAN YURIDIS TENTANG MODIFIKASI KNALPOT BRONG PADA KENDARAAN BERMOTOR DITINJAU DARI UNDANG-UNDANG NOMOR 22 TAHUN 2009 TENTANG LALU LINTAS DAN ANGKUTAN JALAN (STUDI DI SATUAN LALU LINTAS POLRES KOTA BATU)

This research explains the high level of motor vehicle modification traffic violations, especially the use of Brong exhausts in Batu City. It can be seen that the main problem in this research is; First, what is the effectiveness of Article 285 paragraph 1 of Law Number 22 of 2009 concerning Road Traffic and Transportation regarding modifications to exhaust pipes on motorized vehicles in Batu City. Second, obstacles in implementing the effectiveness of Article 285 paragraph 1 of Law Number 22 of 2009. That this research aims to find out how Article 285 paragraph 1 of Law Number 22 of 2009 concerning Road Traffic and Transportation is implemented, which relates to traffic violations modifying motorized vehicles, especially the use of exhaust pipes. The method used in this research is empirical juridical. Data collection methods used were observation and interviews. Furthermore, the results of this research can be concluded that the implementation of Article 285 paragraph 1 of Law Number 22 of 2009 in Batu City is still not running effectively. This can be proven by the fact that there are still many people who violate motor vehicle modifications, especially in the use of Brong exhausts in Batu City. The obstacle to implementing this law is the low level of public awareness of the law in complying with regulations. There is also a lack of firmness among Law Enforcement Officials in taking action against modification violations. The next suggestion in this research is to increase legal awareness among the public by socializing the importance of obeying rules and increasing strict action against violators of this modification.
