Abstract
The development of the industrial world is always accompanied by the development of supporting technology in process control, both conventional and digital. In the current era, industrial control, especially those using PLCs, can do various complex things, one example that can be taken is setting, controlling and processing data on the speed of a 3 phase induction motor. In the industrial environment, 3-phase motors are widely used in various processes that require additional control devices such as VFDs or VSDs. This device can also be controlled using a PLC and provides feedback data that can be used to determine the process that is occurring. PLC can carry out digital control or direct communication control by utilizing RS485 facilities. RS485 serial communication is very popular in the industrial world where not only 3 phase motor controls have this facility but the sensors used also have similar facilities, this is because it has a longer range than serial RS232. The control carried out not only uses the same vendor but can also be carried out with different vendor devices. The use of VFD and VSD devices from different vendors has different management and control concepts so that a middle point is needed that can be used to carry out control simultaneously. PLC control devices can do this by classifying the ID of each VFD device with different levels of communication access so that the system can carry out control together and be able to process data from different devices.
