Abstract
This research was carried out in 2023/2024 semester 2 in class 2 of SD Muhammadiyah 08 Dau. This research aims: (1) to describe the implementation of the superior literacy class program for grade 2 students at SD Muhammadiyah 08 Dau and (2) to determine the factors inhibiting the implementation of the superior literacy class program for grade 2 students at SD Muhammadiyah 08 Dau.
This research is qualitative research that is descriptive and analytical in nature. Data collection was carried out using interview, observation and documentation methods. Primary Data is data obtained directly from informants based on the results of interviews and observations that have been carried out. Primary data was obtained from the homeroom teacher of class 2 of SD Muhammadiyah 08 Dau, students of class 2 of SD Muhammadiyah 08 Dau, and the principal of SD Muhammadiyah 08 Dau regarding the implementation of the literacy program in the critical thinking skills of students of class 2 of SD 08 Dau. Secondary data is supporting data in the form of photo documentation at the research location, such as the number of students, facilities and infrastructure, materials or sources of reading books.
The results of this research are that the superior literacy class program at SD Muhammadiyah 08 Dau certainly has the aim of developing students' abilities in literacy so that they can form a literacy culture in the school environment. Literacy implementation in schools is carried out for 15-30 minutes using the method of independent reading, reading together and retelling. Critical thinking skills in literacy programs play an important role in the learning process and learning outcomes. Critical thinking skills in the implementation of the superior class 2 literacy class program can be seen understanding information, opening memory and concentration which are indicators of critical thinking skills. The implementation of the superior literacy class program at SD Muhammadiyah 08 Dau has inhibiting factors, namely 1 class 2 student who is not fluent in reading, 1 student cannot read too fast and does not know some new vocabulary, which causes difficulty understanding the content of the reading material
