PENGARUH ROKOK HERBAL (HERBAL CIGARETTE) DAN ROKOK ELEKTRIK (E-CIGARETTE) TERHADAP SISTEM RESPIRASI

Background: Smoking is an activity of inhaling smoke from burning tobacco from the mouth to the lungs, which can cause addiction and has been proven to cause various respiratory problems and even death for tobacco cigarette users. This has given rise to various cigarette products claiming to be a safe alternatives to tobacco cigarettes, such as herbal cigarettes and e-cigarettes. Herbal cigarettes and e-cigarettes have been trusted by the public as a smoking cessations and a safe substitutes for tobacco cigarettes.
Purpose: To determine is there an effect of herbal cigarette and electric cigarette on the respiratory system.
Methode: Using the literature review method (narrative review) by searching literature via Google Chrome to access academic databases, such as NCBI Pubmed, Science Direct, Research Gate, and Google Scholar, with the keywords that used are herbal cigarettes, e-cigarettes, respiratory system, benzo(a)pyrene, naphtalene, hydroquinone, and acrolein.
Result: The results from doing a journal review of the research and theory journals regarding the effect of herbal cigarettes and e-cigarettes on the respiratory system. This shows that herbal cigarette smokes and e-cigarette vapor contain various dangerous ingredients that can affect the respiratory system by various pathway.
Conclucion: Based on the literature review, it can be concluded that there is an effect of herbal cigarettes and e-cigarettes on the respiratory system.
