STRATEGI KOMISI PEMILIHAN UMUM (KPU) DALAM MENINGKATKAN PARTISIPASI PEMILIH PEMULA PADA PEMILU SERENTAK TAHUN 2020 DI KABUPATEN MALANG

This research aims to analyze and describe the strategy of the Malang Regency General Election Commission (KPU) in increasing the participation of first-time voters. First-time voters have a crucial role in the democratic process, but their participation tends to be low. Therefore, the Malang Regency KPU developed a special strategy to increase the involvement of first-time voters in the general election.

This research uses a qualitative approach by conducting in-depth interviews and analyzing documents related to KPU strategy. The research results show that the Malang Regency KPU has designed various programs and activities aimed specifically at first-time voters, such as outreach in schools, training for new voters, and online campaigns. Apart from that, the KPU is also working with various parties, including educational institutions, community organizations and the media, to increase the effectiveness of this strategy.

However, challenges remain, including the lack of understanding and interest among first-time voters in the political process. Therefore, the Malang Regency KPU continues to evaluate and adjust strategies to ensure the continued increase in participation of first-time voters. This research contributes to understanding effective strategies for increasing the participation of first-time voters and can be a reference for the KPU in other regions in similar efforts
