Abstract

This study aims to investigate 2020 English Language Education Department of University of Muhammadiyah Malang students' perception about the use of YouTube videos in helping to learn English listening skills. This research focuses on qualitative research. Donovan (1989) Defines qualitative research as a research method that produces descriptive data about the written or spoken words of people and the behavior observed. Based on the data analysis, it can be shown that students from the class of 2020 English Language Education Department have a positive perception of the use of YouTube videos as a medium for learning English listening. Students’ engagement is also supported by the variety of content provided by YouTube videos, allowing students to choose material that interests them. Furthermore, the use of YouTube videos can provide comfort in learning and create a positive perception of the use of technology in learning English listening.
