Abstract

Planning for a Micro Hydro Power Plant (PLTMH) by utilizing spring water sources in the Taman Kemesraan area is one of the efforts to develop new, renewable energy to supply electrical energy needs at the Taman Kemesraan tourist location, Pujon, Malang. PLTMH planning includes civil building components, mechanical components which are limited to determining the dimensions of the turbine and wheel, and generator selection. The planning stage includes: 1). Elevation Measurement, 2). Flow velocity measurement, 3). Debit calculation, and 4). Generator turbine and windmill design. Design of civil building components, including: water reservoir, penstock, power house, and tailrace. Meanwhile, turbine type planning consists of determining the type of turbine and generator, generating power, specific speed, and turbine runner planning. Then planning the type of wheel includes determining the type of wheel, diameter of the wheel and generator. The survey results showed that the generator discharge design (Q) was 0.0372 m3/second and the effective fall height (Heff) was 28.704 m. The turbine type is the Kaplan type with a single phase synchronous generator, while the windmill type is the overshot type. In this planning and research, a comparison of PLTMH using a turbine with a windmill will be used to later analyze the feasibility and budget plan.
