Abstract
Every region has its own folklore. Folklore contains many aspects such as stories, games, songs, rituals, and other traditional contents and delivered from one person to another and from one generation to the next generation. Folklore is not only used as “Story before sleep” but also can be used as the material for teaching as well. Nusantara folklore is a collection of Indonesian traditional stories. From many folklores in Nusantara, folklore about Prambanan Temple is famous among the people. This story about how Roro Jonggrang was cursed by Bandung Bondowoso. The researcher used descriptive qualitative as a research design. The researcher use Nusantara Folklore entitled “Roro Jonggrang” as research object. There is four types of sentence used in folklore entitle “Roro Jonggrang”. There are simple sentence, compound sentence, complex sentence, and compound-complex sentence. The researcher used descriptive qualitative as a research design. This study indicated that the researcher found that this folklore composed from fifty one sentences. The most dominant type researcher found was simple sentence with thirty eight sentences. Other types result was compound sentence with seven sentences, complex sentence with three sentences, and compound-complex sentence with three sentences.
