Abstract
Background: Cervical cancer is cancer that begins in abnormal cells that grow in the cervix, or cervix. Cervical cancer occurs in the female reproductive organ, which is the entrance to the uterus and is located between the vagina (coital canal) and the uterus (uterus) or also known as the birth canal or place where the baby grows. Cervical cancer develops gradually. The process of developing cervical cancer begins in the lining of the cervix. The main cause of cervical cancer is the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) virus which attacks the cervix which causes warts or warts and this HPV infection takes quite a long time before it develops into cervical cancer, approximately 10-20 years. Family support helps the process to ease cervical cancer sufferers in their treatment efforts and to get a good quality of life. The benefits of family support for sufferers who are facing problems and will raise the individual's enthusiasm for undergoing treatment or therapy, such as patients undergoing chemotherapy .Objective: to find out how much family support there is for cervical cancer patients. Method: The research method used is a qualitative method with a case study research strategy. Data collection used semi- structured interviews and documentation methods, and data validity testing, participant selection used the purposive sampling method. Results: After conducting interviews with participant 1, participant 2, participant 3, 4 themes were found, namely: 1) Assessment Family Support, 2) Instrumental Support, 3) Informational Support, 4) Emotional Support. Conclusion: The family has an important role in monitoring and caring for cervical cancer patients by providing motivation, guidance, controlling eating and drinking, advice and empathy. The family support provided includes four aspects, namely: assessment family support, instrumental support, informational support and emotional support. These four aspects are balanced with psychological family support which plays a major role in helping the patient's recovery and health. Someone who has been diagnosed with cervical cancer needs support from a good family so that the patient will feel safe and comfortable in their environment.
