Abstract

Turnover intention is a form of employee behaviour in the company, where employees wish to leave the company for various reasons and will disrupt the stability of the company if not immediately resolved. The purpose of this study is to see whether job satisfaction and employee engagement affect turnover intention. The participants were 160 employees of CV YZ. The sampling technique used is simple random sampling. The instruments in this study used UWES-9 (utrecht work engagement scale), JSQ (job satisfaction questionnaire), & TIS-14 (turnover intention scale). The analysis technique used multiple regression with the help of SPSS software. The results showed that there is a significant influence between job satisfaction and employee engagement on turnover intention F (2,157) = 8.855, p<0.05. Judging from the influence between variables, it is found that job satisfaction is significantly able to predict turnover intention with a value of (ß = 0.367, p<0.05), while employee engagement is significantly able to predict turnover intention with a value of (ß = -0.200, p<0.05). The implication of this research is that companies are expected to organise training programmes, mentoring, workshops, retreats, establish open communication with employees, offer work flexibility, and improve retention programmes. In addition, make policies in the form of career development opportunities and create a safe, comfortable, and healthy work environment for all employees.
