PROGRAM PEMBINAAN MENTAL SPIRITUAL BAGI NARAPIDANA DI LEMBAGA PEMASYARAKATAN KELAS II A KOTA KEDIRI

Lack of spiritual knowledge is one of the problems in a person committing
crimes, so that those who commit crimes can become prisoners. In the Class II A
Penitentiary in Kediri City in 2023 there were 859 inmates with various cases.
Given these problems, the Class II A Penitentiary in Kediri City has formed a
coaching program that can support changes in inmates. towards a better person,
especially in spiritual terms. The purpose of this research is to find out forms and
processes for implementing mental and spiritual development for prisoners. The
method used in this research uses qualitative approach with this type of research
study case. The data collection techniques used in this research are observation,
interviews and documentation. The data analysis technique in this research uses
data condensation, data presentation, and retrieval conclusion. Test the validity of
the data used in this research using the credibility test. The results of this research
show that the forms There are various kinds of accommodating activities for the
mental and spiritual development program for convicts at the Class II A
Penitentiary in Kediri City diversity the prisoners religious beliefs, such as worship,
implementation lectures, discussions and counseling. Meanwhile, the process of
implementing this mental spiritual development program combines careful
planning, diverse approach to implementation, regular evaluation, and close
collaboration with external parties.
