Abstract
This study aims to understand the strategies used to increase independence and identify the forms of independence of foster children in LKSA Robbani Malang Regency. This research uses a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The subjects in this study used purposive sampling technique. Therefore, the research subjects amounted to 6 (six) people, including 3 (three) caregivers and 3 (three) foster children of LKSA Robbani Malang Regency. The results of this study show that there are two strategies for forming the independence of foster children in LKSA Robbani, namely by having the robbani i-care value system and the foster child service program. The Robbani I-Care values include Integrity, collaborative, agile, responsibility, and empathy. In addition, there are programs, namely character building, daily coaching, academic success, love of reading. skill guidance, tahfidz al-quran, tahsin al-quran tadarus al-quran, strengthening children's capacity, and my status is my good deed. With these values and service programs, LKSA Robbani foster children can have emotional independence in the form of controlling emotions, expressing feelings, and solving problems calmly. Economic independence, foster children become entrepreneurial and good at financial management. Intellectual independence, foster children become able to face challenges and problems in everyday life. And social independence, foster children become able to network and socialize with many people not only family and friends but the surrounding environment.
