Abstract

The phenomenon of single mothers has become common, especially in rural areas such as Kebobang Village. Widowed families in Kebobang Village face various changes, from earning a living to caring for their children. In addition, they also have to manage finances for daily needs and children's school fees. The purpose of this study is to identify the strategies used by widowed families to survive and to identify the challenges they face. This research used a qualitative approach with a descriptive research type. Data was collected through in-depth interviews with several single parents in Kebobang Village. The results showed that widowed families use various strategies, such as finding a job, building social relationships, time management, and saving expenses. Challenges faced by widowed families include difficulty finding work, carrying out multiple roles, and dealing with community stigma. This research provides valuable insights into the experiences and strategies of widowed families in rural areas, as well as the challenges they face. The implication of this research is the importance of providing appropriate support and programs to help these families in their daily lives.
