Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of giving beer grounds-based concentrate with essential oil biostimulator in feed supplement on erythrocyte and hemoglobin levels in beef cattle. The research material used was 14 simental beef cattle with an age range of 1-1.5 years. The method used was an experiment by measuring erythrocyte and hemoglobin levels with data before and after feeding percoban for 30 days. The variables observed include erythrocyte and hemoglobin levels by data analysis using quantitative descriptive analysis methods. The results showed erythrocyte and hemoglobin levels in beef cattle before and after experimental feeding, namely erythrocyte levels of 4.81 x 106/μL to 4.68 x 106/μL (down 2.82%), and hemoglobin levels of 3.92 g/dL to 3.57 g/dL (down 8.93%). The results of erythrocyte levels in female and male cattle before and after experimental feeding were female cattle 4.82 x 106/μL to 4.58 x 106/μL (down 4.24%) and bulls 4.81 x 106/μL to 4.85 x 106/μL (up 1.58%). The results of hemoglobin levels in female and male cows before and after experimental feeding were female cattle 3.9 g / dL to 3.48 g / dL (down 9.77%) and bulls 3.76 g / dL to 3.74 g / dL (down 13.56%). The conclusion of the study of feeding beer pulp with essential oil biostimulator for 30 days affected the condition of anemia that occurred, the experimental feed was still lacking in protein and iron content.
