Abstract
Background: Hypertension is a condition of increased systolic blood pressure ≥140 mmHg or diastolic pressure ≥90 mmHg or both. Hypertension often does not show any symptoms for a long time. Hypertension is one of the risk factors for various diseases Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between knowledge and satisfaction with adherence to the use of amlodipine drugs in hypertensive patients at the Arjuno Health Center in Malang City
Methods: This study used an observational study with a cross-sectional approach. Sampling is carried out by non-probability sampling. The samples used by hypertensive patients who used amlodipine treatment at the Arjuno Health Center in Malang City with the number of samples referring to the slovin formula were 88 respondents. Result and Conclusion: The results showed that most respondents had a high level
of knowledge about hypertension (60.23%). The results showed that most
respondents had a high level of satisfaction with hypertension (84.09%). The results showed that most respondents had a non-adherence category to amlodipine treatment (53.41%). The results of the chi square correlation test showed a significant relationship (p < 0.05) between knowledge (p = 0.020), and therapeutic satisfaction (p = 0.040) with amlodipine treatment adherence at the Arjuno Health Center in Malang City. The results of this study showed a significant relationship between knowledge, satisfaction with adherence to amlodipine treatment in hypertensive patients at the Arjuno Health Center in Malang City.
