Abstract
Each media has its own way of packaging an event that is reported. In the same event, there can be different news presentations due to differences in how journalists view the event. This is what is called media construction.
This research was conducted to find out the framing of Magdalene.co online media in reporting about women. Four news articles were analyzed in the November - December period of 2023. Using the framing analysis theory of Zhongdang Pan and Gerald M. Kosicki, researchers divided the news text into several parts, including Syntax, Script, Thematic, and Rhetoric. That way, the results found are that Magdalene.co does provide a larger portion in discussing sexual violence against women. Of the four news articles analyzed, all four were written by Magdalene.co itself. In the selection of sources in the four news articles, the viewpoints presented are those who are pro-feminism. Given that the founders and owners of Magdalene.co are a group of people with a feminist perspective and have a vision to be involved in channeling feminist voices in the midst of our patriarchal society. Furthermore, from the findings of the analysis of the hierarchy of media influence that has been described by the researcher, it is concluded that the hierarchy of influence of individuals, media routines, organizations, extra-media, and ideology has had a lot of influence in choosing the theme and purpose of Magdalene.co news.
