Abstract
Background: Indonesia has a prevalence of diabetes of about 48% and more than half of diabetes cases 58.8% are undiagnosed. Pain is a defense mechanism for the body that arises when tissue is being damaged causing the individual to react by moving the pain stimulus. Deep breath relaxation is abdominal breathing with a slow or slow, rhythmic, and comfortable frequency done by closing your eyes. Breath relaxation technique becomes a nonpharmacological therapy used to treat pain by practicing 15 minutes can stimulate the nerve network that connects the heart and brain.
Method: The research method used in the preparation of this final scientific paper uses a case study report. The author follows the scientific method according to the rules of the nursing process including: Assessment, data analysis, nursing intervention, nursing implementation, and evaluation.
Results: The results of the study after observation of nursing care for 3 consecutive days, it was found that the level of pain in patients decreased. The pain scale on the first day was 5, on the second day it dropped to 4 and on the third day the pain scale dropped to 1.
Discussion: Deep breath relaxation therapy can overcome pain disorders because it can release endorphins neurotransmitter hormones so that it can stimulate autonomic nerve responses so that the body is more relaxed.
